Undergraduate Research Program Directors (URPD) Conference 2017

Held in odd years, the URPD Conference 2017 brings together those interested in creating and enhancing undergraduate research programs at the institutional level.  Next year’s “Undergraduate Research Programs: Undergraduate Research Collaborations” will take place on June 27-29, 2017 at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff. This 1 1/2-day conference is designed to help participants learn from each other and explore a variety of models and best practices related to undergraduate research.

Utah Water Watch training - Tier 2 - Logan Library, Logan, UT

Learn about water quality issues and advanced monitoring techniques at this Tier 2 training on June 22, 2017 from 10:15 am - 4:00 pm. Trained volunteers have the opportunity to help collect water quality data. This training is open to current UWW volunteers and others with prior background in environmental monitoring.

June 13-15, 2017

2017 UCOWR/NIWR Annual Conference

Join the Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) and the National Institutes for Water Resources (NIWR) for their annual conference, June 13-15, 2017: “Water in a Changing Environment.” Gaps in projected water supply and demand, water quality and reuse issues, increased food and energy needs, and a changing climate bring water resources to center stage, not only in the Western U.S., but across the continent and around the world. The meeting seeks to foster dialogue on developing trans-disciplinary and disciplinary solutions to complex water problems, and to explore bridges between science and policy.

 

 

June 12-16, 2017

Utah Master Naturalist Watershed Investigations

The Utah Master Naturalist Program consists of three 40-hour courses that focus on exploring, learning about, and conserving Utah's beautiful natural ecosystems. The majority of each course is spent outdoors, and class size is small to maximize learning and fun. This Watershed Investigations course will be taught by Utah's Hogle Zoo educators, and will be based in the Education Building. Class times are 9am-5pm starting Monday, June 12, and ending Friday, June 16. This is an adult education program that is open to participants 18 years of age and older. We also have partial scholarships for teachers.

Utah Water Watch - Tier 1 - Herriman Library, Herriman, UT

Join UWW to learn about watersheds and water quality monitoring at this UWW Tier 1 training on May 27, 2017 from 10:15 am – 2 pm. Help us collect data on a local waterbody! Training is open to the public of all ages and levels. We will start by learning watershed basics, water quality and the need for monitoring.
